“Matchbox Memories”

I kicked sleep in the ass once again and refused to grace it with my presence night before last. Me, being the smooth-talker that I am, convinced my family to drive to Southern California in the middle of the night. We left Brookings at about 9:30 pm and arrived yesterday at about 11:45 am. It was a long drive and I have a story for you.

So. We are passing through San Francisco at about 3:30 in the morning and everything is going good. I have a solid 3 hours left of the 5 hour energy shot I took in Willits and we start to hit a tiny bit of traffic. A little weird at 3 in the morning. A couple miles ahead I saw the gnarliest-that is the only word I can use to describe it-accident I have ever seen. It was a two car accident, but one of the cars was on fire. Not just on fire, completley engulfed in flames. I could feel the heat from the fireball as we passed about 10 feet away.

Insanity.

We are now in Ojai, CA. Fun times ahead.
