“Tilt-Shift”

This is a real image full of life-size objects. Pretty sweet eh? The effect is called tilt-shift photography and is achieved using very expensive lenses and such but as you can see the effect can be achieved in Photoshop as well.

I went to another Mariners game yesterday and it was awesome. We sat in the front row, field level, right behind first base. Pretty BA, if I may.

“Carolina Drama” – The Raconteurs

Jack White’s other band, The Raconteurs, have released a second album which, in my opinion, is far better than their first effort. This song specifically is so great I decided that you needed to hear it. Other good songs on the album include: Consolers of the Lonely, Salute Your Solution, Many Shades of Black, and pretty much all the others on the CD. I suggest you pick this one up!

  1. This looks pretty neat! :)
How did you do the photoshoping? (it’s been all too long a time since I played around in that application, so I am curious…)

  2. You have to do a gradient mask which only leaves the middle of the image out of the selection area, then apply a lens blur to the selected area. That is most of the effect right there. Then, since small scale models often react differently to light than full size objects you have to saturate the entire image a little to give it the extra effect.

  3. holy shit. thats so cool.

pa ool come home i wanna hang out.
